This Is The Fastest Way To Heal A Zit On Your Face

Everyone has their own tip or trick for getting rid of a pimple. Remember the old toothpaste hack? Well, it turns out the putting toothpaste on a pimple actually causes irritation and redness. I have a friend that swears by lemon juice, but this trick made my pimple even worse. It doesn’t help that I tend to pick at my pimples (a huge no-no), which causes them to get all gross and scabby.
So what’s actually the best way to heal a zit? The first tip is to avoid touching the pimple at all cost. Squeezing a pimple will actually lengthen the amount of time the pimple takes to heal, so hands off! I know, it’s easier said than done. But would you rather have a pimple on your face for a week or a scar on your face for a lifetime? It’s a no-brainer.
I’ve found that the quickest way to heal a zit is to use a natural remedy: tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is effective at treating pimples because it has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. All you need to do is apply few drops of tea tree oil to the pimple with a cotton bud. This will help kill off the microbes that are growing under the pores of your skin and causing the pimple to grow in size (read more here). It will disinfect pores and dry out pimples and zits. Tea tree oil also decreases redness and irritation. So if you do pick at your pimples (it happens to the best of us), tea tree oil will help minimize the damage.
You can get a bottle of tea tree oil at almost any grocery store or drug store. My favorite tea tree spot treatment is Grease lightening wash ($14.85). It’s an gentle herbal infusion of thyme, tea tree and rosemary. It’s effective at cleaning the problem area and also calms irritated skin.
