|Glenys Searle- Marriage Celebrant and Owner of Say I WIll Weddings in Noosa, QLD.|
We recently spoke with Marriage Celebrant Glenys Searle owner of “Say I will Weddings” on Queensland’s, Sunshine Coast. Here, she gives readers and even future brides and grooms an insight into the type of services her company provides along with some valuable advice for that special day!
Tell us a little bit about your company and what you do?
Say I Will Weddings was born in the beautiful Yarra Valley in Melbourne, Victoria. We have helped to design and create many beautiful weddings in the surrounding wineries. Now, Say I Will Weddings, works with couples to create wonderful memorable weddings in Noosa, Queensland and the surrounding areas. We marry couples in beautiful gardens at home, in parks, by the beaches (in this area which is known worldwide), in gorgeous chapels in the Hinterland, on the balconies of exquisite bed and breakfast properties with awesome views, anywhere that our couples choose. Everywhere on the Sunshine Coast is breathtaking. We also create beautiful intimate, boutique weddings, on board one of the local cruise boats, which is so romantic and especially appealing for those couples just wanting a small wedding with a difference. Aside from weddings, Say I Will Weddings creates naming ceremonies, commitment ceremonies and renewal of vows.
Our mantra: Your day your dream!
What made you decide to get into the wedding business?
I enjoy working with people and the theatre of the occasion. Weddings are a joyful, happy and fun experience as well as being a journey to a very “spiritual” unity. I take great pride in having given service of great value to couples, creating a ceremony exactly as they wanted and performing the legal binding of their relationship. The happiness that fully envelopes the couple, their family and friends and the marriage celebrant, is a fantastic environment in which to create and ultimately marry people. It is a profession that brings great joy and with it great responsibility.
What is it that you think, makes a day like this so special? Other than love, what do you think is the key?
To me the key is in the planning of this very special day and the development of a close relationship between the couple and the celebrant. I always maintain an ‘open door’ approach so that couples know that I am available to them at any time. This relationship then ensures that all contingencies have been covered and all is organised for a smooth, and stress free day for the couple getting married.
What would be your best piece of advice to future bride and grooms, when planning their wedding?
Firstly, relax and enjoy this wonderful journey that you are about to begin. Next, know what your budget and guest list is and make sure that you are both on the same page. Select a venue with another option in mind, this is particularly important if you want an outdoor wedding. Make use of wedding industry people and their knowledge.
Enjoy the experience and try not to stress!
Thanks so much Glenys, it was so lovely to catch up with you and hear about your amazing experience with weddings.
